The Students’
Union: -
The student’s union comprises HIAC students
willing to obtain the B.Sc. degree. Besides, the foreign, and external students
have the same rights to participate in the union’s different activities, except
the right to run for election or to be nominated.

The goals of the Students' Union: -
-
Developing the
students’ spiritual & moral values, national & patriotic awareness, besides
qualifying them to be good leaders, and giving them the opportunity to express
their opinions.
-
Propagating the right
academic spirit among the students, corroborating the relationship among the
students, staff members, and employees.
-
Detecting the students
different talents, abilities, and skills.
-
Encouraging, and
supporting the formatting of groups, students’ cooperative organizations and
related activities.
-
Arranging the student’s
energies in a way that services the community.

The
Students' Union
achieves its goals through: -
Each of the
above mentioned committees is nominated annually, and consists of:
-
The committee head who is one of HIAC’s staff member, and is nominated by
HIAC’s dean.
-
Two members from the elected students representing each academic year.
-
Each committee elects one of
its members as secretary-general and another one as assistant
secretary-general.
-
A representative of the
technical system from The Youth Care Administration attends the committee
meetings.

The Students’
Union
duties and responsibilities
are as
follows: -
-
Drawing the Union’s policy in the light of the committees' proposed
programs.
-
Approving the different committees' frameworks, & monitoring related
performance performance.
-
Responsibility for the Union's fund, and settling the annual financial
balance of the board and its committees.
-
Approving the union’s closing account.
-
Arranging the work among the different committees.
-
Corroborating the relationship among HIAC students' union and those of
different faculties.
-
Electing the secretary-general of the union’s board and his assistant.

The Students’ Union Board is nominated annually under the supervision of HIAC’s
dean as the union board pioneer and the membership of: -
The board members elect from
the students the secretary-general and his assistant, and the Head of the
technical body from The Youth Care Administration is the one who is in charge
of the financial matters.

The representatives of the
technical system from The Youth Care Administration have the right to attend
the board and committees' meetings and participate in the discussions, but not
to vote.
- As a sign of the enhancing the relations between the staff members and
the students, the Union’ head & and the committees’ heads afford counsel only
to the Union’s board and committees to let the student manage their own
affairs by themselves .

Rules governing the nomination of the membership of the Union’s committees’:

The student must hold an Egyptian Nationality.
-
-Good reputation and conduct.
-
Fresh year student.
-
Payment of the Union’s fees.
-
Noticeable activities in the committee’s field to which he is nominated.
-
No custodial penalty, or previous suspension of his membership in any other
union’s boards or committees.
-
No disciplinary action against him from HIAC.
The board is
elected annually during the month of December. The Head of the Central
Administration is authorized to declare the detailed elections’ timetable, any
student doesn’t have the right to vote unless he:
-
Is listed in the election’s
roll.
-
hold
an identification card.
-
Has a
receipt
proving that he
paid the Union’s
fees.
The election process is valid only if half of HIAC’s students who have the
right of voting attended the elections. And if not, the elections are postponed
for three other days, then the attendance percentage could be 20%. Then each
academic year, which doesn’t gain the 20%, shall not represented in the board.
If the election of the board for any reason was impracticable, HIAC’s Dean
shall have the authority to nominate a temporary board, governed by the same
previous conditions ruling the nomination of the Union’s board membership and
comprising eminent and active students.
